An extraordinary celebration of collectible design, artistic craftsmanship, and timeless elegance transforms New York’s historic Park Avenue Armory into a sophisticated universe of creativity, culture, and contemporary luxury.
New York has once again become the epicenter of international artistic sophistication as Salon Art + Design opened its 15th anniversary edition on November 4, 2026, at the magnificent Park Avenue Armory. Running through November 8, this prestigious gathering celebrates the extraordinary dialogue between fine art, collectible design, decorative arts, and exceptional craftsmanship.
Within the monumental architecture of the Armory, an exquisite selection of international galleries presents an eclectic panorama of historic masterpieces, modernist treasures, contemporary creations, and extraordinary decorative objects. The result is an environment where collecting becomes an art form in itself.
Where art, design, and heritage converge:
What distinguishes Salon Art + Design from conventional art fairs is its remarkable ability to dissolve the boundaries between disciplines, periods, and aesthetic traditions.
Here, a sculptural contemporary chair may coexist with an exquisite Art Deco cabinet, a monumental ceramic work, or a luminous piece of handblown glass. Furniture becomes sculpture, jewelry becomes wearable architecture, and decorative objects reveal the extraordinary creative intelligence of the human hand.
The exceptional art of craftsmanship:
Among the compelling presentations of the 2026 edition, the legacy of legendary French designer Andrée Putman emerges through her remarkable Reflet cartésien mirror, a geometric composition that transforms reflection into an exercise in architectural poetry.
At Galerie Gabriel, an extraordinary stainless-steel writing desk by Maria Pergay recalls the audacious experimentation of the 1960s, when designers began redefining the relationship between industrial materials and sculptural elegance.
Equally captivating is the presentation of Dutch artist Maarten Vrolijk at Todd Merrill Studio. His Sakura Tree glass creation evokes the ephemeral beauty of Japanese cherry blossoms, revealing how traditional glassmaking can achieve an almost painterly freedom.
These works exemplify one of Salon’s most compelling messages: craftsmanship is not simply the preservation of ancestral techniques, but a living artistic language capable of constant reinvention.
A theatrical celebration of design:
For this anniversary edition, the fair also places special emphasis on the experience of entering its extraordinary world.
Interior designer Courtney McLeod of Right Meets Left Interior Design has conceived Impossible Blooms, a surrealist-inspired entrance installation that introduces a sense of fantasy and theatricality to the Armory’s historic architecture.
