The instant that becomes eternal
Alex Korolkovas is a photographer whose work goes beyond the image. With over 20 years of experience in advertising, fashion, and fine arts, his lens seeks to reveal, translate, and capture gestures, emotions, and movements into timeless visual narratives.
Born in São Paulo in 1969, Korolkovas studied Advertising before completing his training at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Since then, he has collaborated with leading international publications, including ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, Grazia, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Vogue, and Stern, and has produced campaigns across the U.S., Brazil, and Asia. His portfolio includes portraits of celebrities, athletes, and cultural icons, all approached with a focus on authenticity and human depth.
Over the years, his work has been recognized with several awards, including the Casa de Criadores Top 10 Fashion Creatives (2004), a nomination for the Abril Journalism Award (2006), and the Visual Press Awards in Fine Art Photography (2016). His solo exhibition, “Valentina”, presented in Wynwood, Miami, further consolidated his reputation by blending photography, plexiglass, and video art into a tribute to the Italian artist Guido Crepax.
Korolkovas describes fashion photography as the pursuit of the “heroic moment”—where light, form, and clothing come together to create something greater than the sum of its parts. His work seamlessly transitions between the realism of the human condition and the fantasy of aesthetics, presenting imagery that is both powerful and meaningful.
Korolkovas immersed himself into Japanese culture where tradition and modernity coexist in perfect tension. From the bustling energy of Shibuya’s crossings to the quiet discipline of a tea ceremony, his photography sought to unveil the subtle gestures that define Japanese aesthetics: restraint, impermanence, and beauty in simplicity. These influences not only enriched his artistic vocabulary but also deepened his pursuit of the “heroic moment,” allowing him to weave universal emotions into culturally specific narratives.
Currently based in Brooklyn with his wife, Mariana, Korolkovas continues to balance his artistic vision with strategic execution. He has worked with talents such as Sabrina Sato, Raissa Santana, Ann-Sophie Thieme, and Chris Lavish, always with the same goal: to produce images that inspire, resonate, and align with the identity and needs of each brand or project.
We recognize Alex Korolkovas as a creator who embodies the best of contemporary visual storytelling: a professional who combines artistry, precision, and an enduring commitment to the power of images.
