Highlights from TEFAF NY 2025

New York. Once again, TEFAF proves itself to be one of the finest art and decorative art fairs in New York City, held at the Park Avenue Armory in Manhattan. The fair showcases an exceptional range of art, antiques, jewelry, and design.

There were so many fabulous galleries from around the world presenting magnificently curated artworks that reflect exactly what collectors are seeking right now. Here are some of my favorite highlights:

  • Jacques Lacoste: The marqueterie salon designed by Jean-Michel Frank for Princess Winaretta de Polignac—just a dream.

  • Galerie Chastel Maréchal: Featuring an exquisite selection of works by Jean Royère, Line Vautrin, Sheila Hicks, Guy de Rougemont, and Georges Jouvé.

  • The Ruth Asawa Solo Show: One of the standout moments of the fair. Her iconic looped wire sculptures were absolutely otherworldly.

  • Salon 94: Showcasing powerful works by Alev Ebüzziya Siesbye, Mitsuko Asakura, Karon Davis, David Hammons, Porfirio Gutierrez, among others.

  • Skarstedt Gallery: Presented an incredible suite of seven new paintings by American artist Eric Fischl, exploring his signature themes—bodies in proximity, emotional distance, and the quiet friction of uncertain relationships.

  • Gladstone Gallery: Displayed an extensive collection of early drawings, watercolors, charcoals, and pastels by George Condo.

  • Di Donna Gallery: Embracing twentieth-century modern masters, the gallery presented a beautifully curated mix of paintings, collages, and sculptures from Dalí, Jean Arp, Joan Miró, Remedios Varo, and others.

  • Demisch Danant: Consistently offering museum-quality historical furniture by legendary artists and designers like Maria Pergay, Alain Jacquet, César, Pierre Guariche, and more.

  • Laffanour – Galerie Downtown: Among the very best—showcasing design icons and masterpieces such as a Jean Prouvé stepladder, a rare Présidence desk (circa 1950), alongside works by Charlotte Perriand, José Zanine, and stunning drawings by Le Corbusier. Simply fabulous!
