A work of art is definitely Frankenstein’s version from cinematic genius Guillermo del Toro, and one of the subtle highlights is the collaboration of Tiffany & Co.’s sublime vintage jewelry worn by actress Mia Goth.

Mia Goth’s Elizabeth is one of the main characters and offers a very contemporary interpretation of Mary Shelley’s original character, very intellectual and deeply attracted to nature.

One of the most ravishing pieces she wears is a 1914 necklace designed by Meta Overbeck, made of gold and set with Favrile glass scarabs. Each beetle was carefully crafted in Louis Comfort Tiffany’s glassworks in Corona, Queens, with a magnificent blue-green iridescence. There is a scene in which Elizabeth is painting a watercolor of a beetle crawling on her hand.

Another stunning piece featured in the film is the Wade Garland Necklace: a Paulding Farnham design from 1900, set with more than 40 carats of European-cut diamonds in an open-flower pattern. The necklace hadn’t been worn since 1900. A real masterpiece defined by platinum exquisite craftsmanship, its floral motifs, with diamonds set in fine millegrain, give it a lace-like effect, depicting the period.

Tiffany’s Flagship store is also showing unique window displays designed in collaboration with Del Toro, a theatrical homage to Frankenstein: the Arctic landscape, Elizabeth’s world in objects displayed on her vanity table, and Victor’s lighting Tower. The idea was to bring the magic of film to the sidewalks of New York City.
